The house, located in Albarquel, arises from a sensitive reading of the hillside, where the land slopes gently towards the sea, opening onto a horizon of exceptional breadth and serenity. The philosophical concept of the project is based on the idea of ​​contemplation as a way of inhabiting—an architecture that does not impose itself, but reveals itself gradually, in harmony with the topography and the surrounding landscape.

The privileged position allows for a simultaneous relationship between two scenarios of strong identity: the imposing presence of the Serra da Arrábida, with its dense, vegetal relief, and the luminous stillness of the waters of the Tróia peninsula, where the sea is calm, almost translucent. The house thus emerges as a point of mediation between these two natures—the terrestrial and the maritime—finding a balance between permanence and fluidity.

The spatial organization seeks to enhance this duality. The interior spaces open wide to the exterior, framing carefully oriented views, as if each opening were a conscious gesture of capturing the landscape. Natural light flows continuously through the spaces, reflecting off surfaces and expanding the perception of space, while the sea horizon acts as a constant element of orientation and contemplation.

The house does not seek to compete with the landscape, but rather to dissolve into it, allowing the experience of dwelling to be inseparable from the place.

Between the solidity of the hillside, the green depth of Arrábida, and the transparency of the waters of Tróia, a subtle balance is built where architecture and nature converge.
