Condominium Montenegro | Faro

2025 | Faro

The project originates from contemplating the Faro estuary, where the water traces smooth, continuous curves, like a natural gesture that repeats itself and remains in harmony. These fluid lines are transposed into the architecture, shaping the facades as living surfaces, where the building breathes the movement of the sea.

The curves are not merely form, but a memory of the territory—a sensitive translation of the landscape into the built environment. Just as the estuary insinuates itself into the land, so too does the building allow itself to be enveloped by its context, dissolving the boundaries between nature and architecture.

The materiality evokes the palette of the place: the warm, dense earth tones dialogue with the abundant green that asserts itself as an identity. Green is not ornament, but essence. It appears on the facades, infiltrates the vertical planes, flows through the hanging gardens, and flourishes on the terraces, creating an inhabited ecosystem.

Monte Negro, the name of the location—a name that carries within it the idea of a mass of vegetation, of natural density—finds an echo in the building, which presents itself as an extension of this great green agglomeration. Here, architecture doesn’t impose itself on the landscape; it integrates, grows with it, and becomes part of its cycle.

Terraces and balconies cease to be boundaries and become continuity. They are transitional spaces where the interior opens to the exterior, allowing light, air, and vegetation to permeate the daily lives of the inhabitants. Each exterior space is an invitation to linger, to contemplate, to experience the climate and the landscape.

In this project, inhabiting is also about being in contact with nature—feeling the movement of water in the forms, recognizing the earth in the colors, and experiencing greenery as an integral part of the architecture.

The project adopts a sustainable approach, integrating passive strategies for thermal control and energy efficiency, taking advantage of solar orientation, natural ventilation, and shading. In this way, it promotes not only the well-being of the users but also a responsible relationship with the environment.

Montenegro Condominium proposes a way of living where architecture and nature intertwine, creating a balance between privacy and community, between construction and landscape, where the exterior and interior merge in a continuous experience of inhabiting.
